Larimie Garcia grew up in the California country-side of Oakdale. He attended CSU Stanislaus and majored in Fine Art with an emphasis in Printmaking. Frustrated with traditional fine art techniques, he wanted to se what else he could develop as conglomerate of his traditional and fordward-thinking experiences.

Larimie began his career at home doing hand lettering and logos. He then moved to Los Angeles where he worked at Warner Bros. Records and A&M Records while attending design school at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Feeling completely unresolved through his education, he ditched school. Since he left, he was a guest teacher and an aid for Typography 1, 2 + 3 for Meryl Pollen and Rebeca Mendez.

Gig was founded in 1996 in Southern California. Larimie has produced packaging and logotypes for many recording artists such as Janet Jackson, The Black Crowes, Daniel Lanois, Sheryl Crow, k.d. lang, The Crystal Method,Porno for Pyros, Erasure and more.

Larimie dabbles in media of all sorts - always seeking new forms of expression. From his studio in Northern California, he continues to produce excellent print work, fine art, typefaces, web sites, motion graphics, photos, and make-up design. Companies of all sizes, bands, ad agencies, movie studios and art directors all across the world turn to Gig Design for creative solutions.
